SALOOM DINING ROOM SET

In 1982, Peter and Linda Saloom created Saloom Furniture Company based on a passion for design and a desire to make furniture that was stylish, comfortable and functional. Peter designed and made the furniture in his father’s basement in Newburyport, Massachusetts, with a Sears radial arm saw. A lot has changed since those early years. Saloom Furniture went on to be named one of Inc. 500 magazine’s 500 fastest growing privately owned companies for 3 years in a row in the early 90s. The company now has two factories with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space in north central Massachusetts, and is the largest employer in the town of Winchendon, Massachusetts.

American made furniture is rare. We’re especially fortunate to live and work in New England, which has a rich furniture manufacturing history. Saloom Furniture is proud to preserve the best quality values from the past, while applying new ideas in design. We’re still excited every time we bring a new product or fresh idea to the furniture market, and in the process have earned a reputation as style leaders in our industry, with award-winning design. Most importantly, all of furniture is handcrafted by our New England artisans, who take pride in their work and build it to last.

“Our mission is to make great furniture, create quality jobs, and be a positive influence in the community."

CANADELDINING ROOM SET

Here at Canadel, we are a family owned company. We believe in manufacturing a product that is hand-assembled and hand-finished in North America.

All Canadel furnishings are made of North American solid birch. To protect the wood we use catalyzed finish coatings, which are synthetic lacquers modified with nitrocellulose. This combination produces a finish that is highly resistant to marking and staining. Maintenance is easy—a damp cloth is all you need.

We've always considered wood as a noble material, and the respect we feel for it is reflected in the final quality of all our products. Through all phases of production, we maintain a respect for nature and the many years that have gone into growing the wood we use. All cardboard packaging is made from recycled fibers and we distill and reuse all paint residues in our production.

Since 1982, the Canadel vision endures - offering personalized products tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer's home.

Inspired by you, made for you!

AAmerica®, Inc. a pioneer in the furniture industry, has been a leading provider of high quality solid wood furniture for over 35 years.

A family owned and operated business, AAmerica was founded by two brothers, Fred and John Rohrbach, both graduates from the University of Montana and smoke jumpers with the U.S Forest Service.

They both served their country with honor during the Vietnam War with John in the U.S. Army and Fred in the 173rd Airborne brigade.

AAmerica got started in 1973 when the two brothers started importing ceramics from what was then South Vietnam. With the fall of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), the Rohrbachs had to retrench. Fred was one of the last Americans to be evacuated from Saigon, on April 29, 1975 from a rooftop to the U.S.S. Blue Ridge in the South China Sea.

It was after this that the brothers went to Taiwan and started buying antique reproductions such as solid oak dining tables, brassware, cast iron and nautical antiques. In fact the arrowback and wide or double pressback chair was found by John in an Idaho antique store and used for inspiration to manufacture it in Taiwan in late 1975. AAmerica was one of the first companies to introduce the concept of importing U.S. hard woods into Taiwan in 1975 to make quality furniture.

Fred later served nine years on the board of directors of the National Smokejumpers Association and was instrumental in doing the first two-hour video on the history of smokejumping as associate producer.

Fred and John also co-authored one of the first post war picture books on Vietnam called ‘Vietnam: Opening Doors to the World’ published in 1988.

Devoting his time overseas and maintaining key relationships with highly skilled furniture manufacturers, Fred Rohrbach is an example of a true businessman. Today he continues to travel to Asia, keeping strong ties, which is one of the many reasons why AAmerica has the best quality furniture in the U.S. with competitive pricing.

The Rohrbachs’ expertise in importing and knowledge of Asian countries and cultures ultimately gives AAmerica an enormous advantage over other importers. AAmerica was one of the first importers of oak furniture from Taiwan and continues to be a pioneer in the furniture importing industry; as one of the first U.S. companies to import furniture from China with American styles and quality standards.

Headquartered in the Seattle area, AAmerica is one of the few manufacturers that produce quality solid Hickory, Oak, Mahogany, Cherry, Birch, Pine, Maple, Ash and Alder furniture. AAmerica's products are focused in value priced solid wood dining tables, chairs and master suites. Over the years, our company has extended the product offerings into formal dining, bedroom and collections. AAmerica will always be known as the leader in the casual dining category and extensively detailed bedroom furniture. Our designs have evolved from the original nostalgic solid oak tables and chairs to fashion forward styles and finishes to meet many customer needs.

To support the company's growth over the years, AAmerica employs a knowledgeable, service driven customer relations team, an experienced sales force, Asian manufacturing and full time quality control staff overseas. We are well stocked in our domestic warehouse, and dedicated to quick ship delivery from Tukwila, Washington.

We are your ONE SOURCE for beautifully crafted solid wood furniture.

HOWARD MILLER

ncomparable workmanship. Unsurpassed quality. A quest for perfection. It’s what Howard C. Miller insisted on when he founded the company back in 1926, at the age of 21.

Even then, Howard Miller understood the need to create products that would be steeped in quality and value. He expected nothing less than the best. And it was only under those strict conditions that he allowed his name to grace every clock manufactured at our sprawling facility in Zeeland, Michigan.

Howard Miller was schooled in the fine art of clockmaking by his father, Herman, in the Black Forest region of Germany. Howard developed into a visionary whose keen sense of innovation spawned a tradition of excellence that has been uncompromised through three generations.

While the early years focused on the manufacture of chiming wall and mantel clocks, Howard Miller also produced trend-setting avant garde clocks that stand today in collectors' galleries. During World War II, Howard Miller joined forces with the Ford Motor Co. to produce anti-aircraft covers. In the 1960s, the company turned its attention to grandfather clocks, eventually earning the company the title of "World's Largest Grandfather Clock Manufacturer."

In 1989, Howard Miller began creating collectors cabinets with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship inherent in their clockmaking. Fashioned from glass and hardwoods, the cabinets are ideal for displaying heirlooms, plates, glassware and other collectibles.

As part of the company's continuing effort to bring customers only the best in handcrafted products, Howard Miller recently acquired three companies: The Hekman Furniture Company produces a strong cadre of carefully sculpted hardwood pieces that range from 18th and 19th Century reproductions, to contemporary products featuring fine metals and exotic woods. The Woodmark Company makes fine upholstered pieces. And the exquisite movement in many clocks we offer is made by Old World craftsmen employed by the Kieninger Company of Germany.

While Howard Miller products might once have been primarily considered as gifts for weddings, anniversaries and retirements, the company's expanded line of offerings is enticing more and more buyers who simply desire quality timepieces and furniture in their homes and businesses -- no occasion required.

We offer hundreds of items to complement any decor ranging from portable alarm clocks to desk sets to wall and mantel clocks to collectors cabinets to limited edition grandfather clocks. And in price ranges that may surprise you - from $5 to $15,000.

No matter the price of the purchase, you have the same assurance that Howard C. Miller provided when he began offering clocks more than 70 years ago: That quality be reflected both in the products we create, and in the people whose artistic talents we rely on to manufacture them.

The legacy left by Howard C. Miller isn't an easy one to emulate. But it's the only way we know of doing business. Incomparable workmanship. Unsurpassed quality. A quest for perfection.
